Voice Modulation
Voice Modulation is an AI-powered tool that shows you what your English can sound like at its best. Record a short sample of your voice, and ELSA generates an enhanced preview — a version of your own voice that sounds clearer and more native-like in pronunciation and accent, while still sounding recognisably like you.
1. What is Voice Modulation?
Think of it as a “best-version” preview of your speaking voice. Instead of only telling you what to improve, Voice Modulation lets you hear the improvement, so you can compare how you sound now with how you could sound. It’s built to do three things:
Show you it’s possible: hear a clearer, more confident version of your own voice.
Point to what to fix: understand which parts of your pronunciation to focus on.
Give you direction: move straight into the right practice to get there.
2. Where to find it
Voice Modulation lives on the Today tab, in the AI Tools section, alongside Speech Analyzer and Dictionary. Open the app, stay on Today, scroll to AI Tools, and tap Voice Modulation.
3. How it works
Record your current voice. Choose Read This Text to read the sample paragraph aloud, or Speak Freely to say anything you like. Speak for at least 10 seconds so ELSA has enough of your voice to work with.
Hear your future voice. Once you finish recording, ELSA processes your audio and generates an enhanced preview
Compare before and after to notice the difference in clarity, pronunciation, and accent, while the voice still sounds recognisably like you.
4. Tips for the best preview
Record in a quiet space with as little background noise as possible.
Speak naturally, at your normal pace. There’s no need to exaggerate.
Hold your device a comfortable distance from your mouth so your voice is captured clearly.
5. Turn your preview into practice
The preview is your starting point. Here’s where to go next to close the gap between how you sound now and your best version:
Speech Analyzer: get detailed feedback on your pronunciation.
Pronunciation Coach: practise the specific sounds you want to sharpen.
Dictionary: check the pronunciation of any word as you practise.
