Add the chat widget to your website

Updated July 11, 2026

Put an "Ask us" chat bubble on your site and help center. It answers from your published help articles, in the visitor's language, and hands off to your team when it can't.

Turn it on & style it

Configure the widget in Help center → Chat settings — its name, colors, greeting, and business hours (answer live in-hours, queue with an offline message out-of-hours, or hide it).

Embed it

Copy the embed snippet from Embed. For security, add your website's domains to Allowed origins — the widget only loads on domains you list.

Answers + handoff

The assistant answers common questions from your published help center with citations. When it isn't sure — or the visitor asks for a person — it hands the conversation to your Inbox so an agent picks up seamlessly.

Signed-in visitors

If your app passes a signed identity token, logged-in visitors can get safe account-specific answers ("what plan am I on?"). Without it, the widget stays on general help-center answers.
